Courtroom

“Please rise for Judge Barnes”

The court was silent as the judge took her seat. The few members next to her stood up and moved respectively, while the criminal Charles Johnson, his lawyer and a single court journalist sat in the crowd, refusing to stand. She was old, wrinkled and disinterested in the surrounding atmosphere, she made sure that her presence was well noticed, walking slowly to her seat. It was sentencing time, the case had been decided and it was time for the criminal to be given their prison time.
